I am looking for a remote trigger for Sony A77II. It needs to cover about 8 feet and NOT occupy the accessory shoe of the camera. It can be wired or wireless ( not IR line of sight). I cannot seem to find one - so some Sony experts out there may know something ?? Thanks

Thought I might have something for you but it does not specify the A77II, it does say Alpha series. I got one for my a7II. http://www.banggood.com/FotoTech-IR-Wireless-Shutter-Release-Remote-Control-For-Sony-Alpha-Series-A7-II-A7-A7R-A7S-p-984267.html

Yes, I have seen similar - without the A77 specification ! - and I am leery.

B&H Photo sells a remote trigger from Vello. The remote mounts on flash head and you have a hand remote. The hand remote also works as a timer which you can set to take photos. Selling price around $125.00. I really enjoy mine.

I have a shoot remote for the A77II, cable is only 6', but works really good.
not expensive, plugs in slot on side of camera.
I've used it a lot to avoid camera shake.
Would sell it for $50.00 paypal only

The vello mounts on the flash shoe, but only as a placeholder. It has a cable to the flash synch jack, so it can be placed in another location.

But, then the cable/connection takes up the shoe ? !

See picture (forgive the quality, but I only had a couple of minutes). The unit that can be set on the hot shoe is a "cold" shoe attachment. A cord attaches it to the camera (curly cord). The main unit can be used to fire the trigger, or you could (say) attach it to the tripod and use the remote device (right front foreground). This unit is inexpensive and works well. I usually have it on the hot shoe, but have just let it hang from the cord and used the remote to fire.

OK, now I understand - it plugs into the standard "remote" socket - which will be OK for me.

Thanks for taking the time to show this !
