It all depends on the season and the amount of rain the valley recieves. In times of drought the Nile may, in fact , essentally dry up so not only is it shallow, the river bed is empty. Or very shallow.

And the crocs will starve , what a shame

Meaning I caught you in a contradiction and you can only imply that I am too stupid to understand.

However, at least part of your response was true. I did, in fact, learn at an early age not to buy into the religious mumbo Jumbo that my family was trying to get me into. Never bought the bullshit even as a kid, and I'm so thankful I had critical thinking brain cells at such an early age. So no, I will probably not ever understand and do not have the capacity for self-delusion to ever buy into the religious bullshit. You are correct on that part.

No, no one caught me in a contradiction. No need to bother explaining to someone with a closed mind.

Are you sure he has a mind? If so, he's not sane.

Actually I did, but you will never admit it.

Also, your attempt to classify those who don't believe as you do in bible myths as either stupid or closed minded actually reflects on you more than those you are trying to label. But with religious fundamentalism comes an offensive combination of arrogance and ignorance and lack of critical thinking, I've noticed, so your responses are fairly typical and predictable.

Not because he's not capable, because he doesn't want to. Someone who thinks religion is BS is not going to pay heed to what's being said. They just want to argue. I'm not going to do that.

I didn't say stupid.... Those are your words. There's a big difference between stupid and closed minded.

You refer to the Bible as myths and religion as BS. Your mind is obviously made up.

Arrogance and ignorance.... That's rich. Sounds like you are describing liberals and atheist. But as far as this subject is concerned, I'm done.

The Nile is only 25 to 35 meters deep

The Congo river is the deepest river in the world measuring 755 ft (230 meters) in the deepest trench. There is no real average global river depth, if for no reason other than that the actual definition of a river is rather vague, and encompasses a wide variety of waterways.

Well, the issue is this: is the Nile shallow? That was what the poster said.

A meter is approximately three feet, is it not? So your facts will say the Nile is from 75 feet to 105 fee deep. I guess whether this is shallow or deep is a personal judgement, but I would consider those numbers as deep, and stand behind my post.

You could disagree and still be a reasonable person.

You're right Tom, these people don't want to get it. Hillary, along with the rest of Congress was lied to, that's why she voted for war. Yes, it was over 10 years ago but it stains our history today and always will. Bush and Cheney were to blame, I think Bush trusted Cheney and believed in him. Cheney got very rich from the war, I don't believe Bush is even friendly with him now. I know the elder Bush thinks very little of Cheney. He's a disgusting human being.

Let me point out that far from being 'beating a dead horse,' as Penny put it, the war is still going on, people on both sides are still dying (and will for decades--Decades, mind you) and the bills and the National Debt continue to pile up.

Meanwhile we lose stature in the world, for out renunciation of our ideals, our acceptance of the illegality of the war, our incompetence in waging it, our adoption of torture and killing innocent civilians, and our permanent incarceration of innocent arrestees and our renouncing of due process in their capture and continued jailing.

Are you proud yet?

But the future, Penny, can only be dwelt with in the present, right? To change the future, we have to act now.

Not acting now extends the wrongs into a farther future.

Kenny-boy, you're getting old and stale.

Where's that old hostility, the rudness, your inherent inability to misunderstand.

Where is all that crap you live it? Share it with us!

Come on Kenny-boy, let it out! Get with it! Share some more stupid and hostility.

Try again, for one more frantic moment, to be noticed, to be seen, to matter.

It's hell when you start to lose it, and nobody notices you any more, right?

I thought everyone knew that the Congress and Senate were lied to about the war. Most trusted the administration, I doubt any administration lied to the Congress and the ppl like that. Oh well, Cheney made a lot of bucks...karma hasn't hit him yet. Yeah, real proud...
