Yellow Flower - SX40 HS

This pretty flower in my backyard was taken with my then Canon SX40 HS Bridge in 2014. I have since "upgraded" to the SX60 HS, which while it has more pixels and more bells and whistles than the old 40, I don't seem to get as good results with it. I'll keep trying, but I do miss the old 40!

What a beautiful shot, Marki! My husband never cared much for his SX40, but I can't imagine why other than he complained about not being able to focus well.

I thought I had properly selected "Store Original" but it didn't work. I tried again and didn't even get it to upload the image let alone "Store Original". This is my 3rd attempt. I never had this problem with the old setup. I guess I have more to learn.

I'm glad it worked, Marki. The download is wonderful! The new setup is a bit quirky with more steps than before.

Mark, I have the sx50 and love it, but when I let my husband give it a try, his hands were too big and kept hitting the timer button. This is a beautiful shot of a daffodil!!

Thank you Angela. I knew you had an SX50 since I have seen a number of your posts of images taken with it. I am curious about that other Canon P&S (SX600?) that you have posted pictures taken with it. I did a Google on it and was impressed with the specs. What do you think about it compared to your SX50?

Mark, that other little camera is an sx700 and I love it because of the size. The only thing I wish it had a eye piece instead of just focusing from the back screen. It's good for close ups and also surprise shots where I just hold it up in the air and shoot, but to zoom for a bird, I find myself very shaking holding it, but that's just me!
It really is a good little camera!!

Oh yeah. 700. My memory was only off by 100. I only took a quick look at the camera's stats, but I noticed it had a higher pixel count than your SX50. Having to use the LCD Screen is one of the things I dislike about shooting with my smart phone. It is capable of surprisingly good images but being old school I like having an optical viewfinder.

Thank you for looking and the compliment, Johnny. That SX40 always surprised me with the IQ of it's images if I did my job well.

It's funny because I only use the LCD screen with my sx50 and only the optical viewfinder with my T3i!
