After nearly a years worth of work -- which I finished about an hour ago -- I proudly submit to my fellow 'hoggers' a combination of my original photography, digital painting and compositing.
The initial idea was to put a few artists, perhaps five or six, that I have worked with over the years into a composite in a live concert setting. Well, five or six turned into 10, the 25, then 42 and now, finally, 57 musicians creating my All Star Jam. Of the 57 artists shown, only seven of them I shot full length, all others were shot tight, either as a headshot, or just below their particular instrument. Everything below their instruments I had to digitally paint in. I've included a sample of the stage I built and a few samples of the digital painting to give you a better understanding of how I created this piece.
The final working file is 84 x 45 inches and 2.18G and nearly 700 layers. To finish this I will print it to canvas and add some final detail work in oils before I add some texture (Mod Podge) then a few clear coats.
So ... who can name all 57?

Why thank you Paul, it has certainly been a labor of love. After I catch my breath, I'm going to create one with all of the country artists I have worked with over the years.
Two words: Freakin' Amazing!
And no, I can't name them all. It's one of those, If you can remember the 70's, you didn't live them things.
Don, like all the work you've posted this is amazing, you are definetly at the top of your game.
I can't name even half but I've seen a big handfull of them live, many several times and some before they hit it big.
Sorry to be critical but you need more cowbell!!!
This truly a labor of love, a year's worth of work and SEVEN HUNDRED layers and it is absolutely beautiful, words fail me.
As far as naming them, I was doing all right until I came to the rooster. The only rooster I can remember is not a musician.
Wonderful work, thanks you for posting it.

Those are two words I can live with! Thanks Mike.
BTW, I'd bet you could name a bunch of them.

Thank you sir, I'm really glad you like it. The rooster belongs to a friend of ours -- she has about 12 of them. His name is Cogburn.

Some, but I'd had to get stoned to remember others and I haven't done that in 25 years.
Very nice, I have friends who do music. I shared this with them and explained you. I liked this. Used to hang out backstage at CBGB's before it went PUNK. Met lots of people.
WOW that is amazing as is your talent!
thanks for sharing

I can't name all 57; but, my God, that is an amazing piece of work. Congratulations on your work and your tenacity!
