Here is one more from my day off earlier this week.
The Tatoosh Mountain Range is within Mt Rainier National Park in Washington State. This view was taken yesterday around 8AM from the Paradise Inn parking lot. The two prominent peaks you see left to right are -The Castle-€ and -Pinnacle-€. The Download shows very nice detail.

Very beautiful! You caught with perfect direction of light, and the fog is a bonus.

Thanks Linda. I was up on the Mt very early AM - so the light was very directional and the fog had not burned off. The area of the park - "Paradise" - is one of my very favorite as it has all the features you would like to photograph. Here, in the parking lot the view of Mt Rainier is almost overwhelming and folks forget to "turn around" and see what's there behind them in the parking lot - in this case the Tatoosh's. I make it a serious habit when I'm hiking to turn around frequently to see the views behind me, and also that's the way back to my truck so I know what it looks like - going back - and I can mark some landmarks.

In my much younger years I spent many days backpacking in Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks and the maps for backcountry were not that super - so it' a trick another serious backpacker taught me one trip in Glacier. So, I tell folks to "turn around" and take a moment to see what the view is like behind you.

All the best.
Greg
