Adobe does it Again.
I decided to drop the CC subscription in the second month and was told I would have to forfeit half the first year subscription fee. Clearly I might have noted this when I signed up, but who plans to encounter so many problems in two months?
Another nail in Adobe's coffin for me.
Thanks for this information from both of the above, I was thinking of enrolling but now I changed my mind.
Plus on top of it all. You can't beat Corel's price and it runs most of the plug-ins too. Corel also has decent support.
I wonder why some folks have tons of problems while others (myself included) have none... I don't do anything special, I received the CC update as well but everything is just fine. I get to choose when the applications get updated. Running on a Mac laptop with El Capitan - the only problem I've run into in the last year was Nikon tethered capture quit working but that's Nikons problem, it broke for other tethered capture software as well. I've also got a Windows 7 desktop which also has run LightRoom and Photoshop smoothly for over 3 years.

All you need to do is reload your plug-ins, it took me a whole 4 minutes to reload mine, not a big deal at all. The upgrades are worth it.
Is paint shop pro available for Mac?

This morning ALL my plug-ins are gone. Trying to contact Adobe to get this fixed is like trying to win the lottery.
I got into a "chat"session with one of the "helpers" and he sent a web link that would fix the problem. I clicked on the link and found the information useless. Also found the chat link had closed. Then I got an email from Adobe telling me they considered my case resolved. Well pig's a... it's resolved. I am discontinuing my CC conscription when it expires and going to Corel Paint Shop Pro.

Corel makes good software and you will enjoy it.
That said, your expectations are backwards. Programs like Photoshop, Microsoft Word and countless others can host plugins. The hosts don't adapt to the plug ins. The plug ins adapt to the host. Adobe, Microsoft, Apple or whoever need to be able to make updates. Perhaps the menu structure needs adjustment. Should Adobe call up all plug in suppliers and get their clearance? That is not going to work.
Instead, when there is an update that effects the plug ins, you usually do a reinstall. Sometimes it takes a plug in provider a few days to adjust their software. The good ones like Topaz and Nik continue to allow downloads of their installation files that detect that you've paid and detect any needed change.
My Nik and Topaz plug in filters were missing after the update too. It took (maybe) ten minutes to download fresh installation files and run them. All is well again.
I've never used Paint Shop. If it accepts plug ins, I would expect similar upgrade procedures.
Do you need links to fresh install files?
You probably don't need it, but the Adobe "chat" chat lines are not nearly as effective as getting help from users on forums. Adobe sponsors a couple that are full of helpful users that generously provide their time.

Don't know, maybe it's because you use a Mac. I'm no expert on computers and software but I can recognize inconsistency when I see it. This is not the first upgrade I've had since I installed PS CC but it IS the first that has shut down all my plugins.

Well bully for you. Maybe I have a whole lot more than you. Maybe I just don't like being inconvenienced by Adobe.
Personally I've always found Corel's PSP to be more intuitive and easier to use than Adobe applications, and far less expensive and PSP does about 95% of what photo shop does. I can live without the other 5%.
Try doing as System Restore to an earlier time, before the PCC update.
Then make sure you do a backup of all your important Documents and Pictures.
Try the PCC update again afterward.
I'm surprised Adobe did not tell you that simple fix for updates (or for downloads) gone wrong.
Good luck.

I guess I was including the thread title of "Adobe does it Again" which suggested you've had this problem before.

No, I haven't had THIS problem before but I've had several others over the years.
