Try this, or a variation of this depending on the connector coming from the Camera. There are other selections at the same site. USB to lightning cable should do it. No need to buy the Apple brand.

Apple has a camera connection kit which will allow you to read the camera's SD card directly. I use it with an iPad3.

You would plug the USB cord that came with the camera into the adapter that plugs into the iPad.
