I still like the first two options: run and hide. Fighting with the shooter means running toward someone firing a gun. Who is going to do that? If the shooter is within reach, then fighting could be an option. Otherwise, it's a remote possibility.

It's a great idea to take the course recommended in this video. The government will not protect you, especially a government run by a "wussy" like we have now. You have to be able to protect yourself. If you don't have a gun your going to need one, get a carry conceal permit and learn how to use it properly. Terrorists are drawn to targets that draw a lot of people, malls, movie theaters etc. since our "leader" is so anxious to bring those that hate us into this country we may find it necessary to protect our families. Every time we have an attack like the one in Orlando the president thinks the answer is to take the firearms from the innocent people that need them the most. He doesn't care about your safety, only taking away your rights.

Ideally, a bystander could take the shot and stop the shooter in his tracks, but that comes with risks. Only someone trained specifically for such a situation would react properly.
βThe last thing you want to do in an active shooter event is to pull your gun out and go hunting for the shooter. If there are other concealed gun carriers in the attack location, they may shoot you. If the police show up and you are running around with a gun, they will probably shoot you. Remember that no one knows who you are. The responders are looking for someone with a gun and you match that description.β

Cute picture, applies in many. Seems we have a group of people willing to die to demonstrate their lifestyle. On the other hand is a group willing to die to kill those demonstrators. Just my observations, we were all safer with certain people in their respective closets. Then there are those who chose to blame the president with every
chance they get. Sad all right.

No. Did you not watch the Brevard County sheriff's video?
People who carry firearms know what they sound like. Most practice with those firearms on a fairly regular basis, and one of the basic rules of gun ownership is identify your target.
I personally think it's better to risk being shot by a fellow gun owner than to do nothing and let a person kill fifty people.
And as to the police, it took almost three hours for them to enter the club. Where people have used firearms to stop an active shooter, the firing was over well before the police arrived, and no defenders were shot. End the threat, clear your weapon, wait for the police.
The problem in Orlando is that only the bad guy was armed. The gun free Zone sign stopped everyone but him.

Yeah, it's always the victims fault.
And when the president praises Islam and blames Christians for all the ISIS violence then yeah, it's his fault.

So I wonder if Sheriff Ivey will arrest me if I am found in a drinking establishment with my concealed weapon? I have mixed feelings about the outlawing of weapons in bars. While I know that I do not drink enough to be impaired and would like to have a weapon with me if a crazy shooter came in, in general the much larger risk would be drunk armed idiots in the bar...
Texas law prohibits carrying in any establishment that receives more than 51% of it's income from alcohol.
Also, there is no legal limit on blood alcohol for people carrying. If an officer stops you and decides you're impaired, even after only one beer, you're busted.

I wonder had the men who fought at Normandy fought that fight using your logic if we would not be speaking German today? I wonder had the guys on the jet that crashed into the Pennsylvania field taken that attitude if our White House would be standing today, I wonder had those in Pluse had foreseen what was to transpire taken a different tack and rushed the shooter in mass how many lives would have been saved? Even with his gun he could not have shot them all.
First Obama should address Chicago. over 1,000 people were killed before memorial day many after. No gun stores in Chicago. Please take time to remember what our founding fathers, gave up real men,. Today grown men need a safe space, Oh my God how far we have fallen. There is not very many shootings in a bar because everyone should know someone in packing. Only my experience only a confident person who knows his weapon, is level headed, will take on the bad guy. I hope there are real men/ women who will realize you are your best chance of survival.Sorry for the faint of heart that would run, leaving, family, and friends behind. 99% of the time a shooter is not as trained as a person with a carry permit, because we shoot weekly. know our weapon, and that confidence is a game changer. I despise cowards.
