I have a Nikkor 18-200 VR ll, bought in fall of 2013. Suddenly after taking a picture and tilting the camera slightly up or down there is a click, like something is loose inside. Shaking the lens a little, nothing sounds loose. The lens has never been dropped or abused. So far have not noticed any other symptom, and it does this on all my dslrs; 7200, 7000, & 5000. Obviously none of my other lenses have this issue.
Any advise appreciated.

Duane

Are you using VR?
Try duplicating the noise with VR on and with VR off. You may just be hearing the VR turning off after shooting with it.

I agree, I wouldn't worry about as long as it's working fine. If you need the peace of mind, you can go ahead and call Nikon and describe it like you did above and ask them if it's something you need to worry about. Otherwise, keep shooting.

No problem - just keep shooting.

Sounds like the VR is going out. I have the same lens & it did the same thing. I just put it in the drawer.

Question for you. I am considering upgrading from D7000 to D7200. Are improvements worth the money?

Yep, that's what mine sounded like before the VR went out. Fortunately yours is still in warranty (isn't it 5 years). Mine was older .... $600 to repair.

I had the same issue with the same lens. I think this answer is exactly right. I took 20,000+ images with that lens . . . no problems.

Thank you MT Shooter.
The problem is the VR. With the VR on there is a click following the shutter, and when tilting the camera up or down, even ever so slightly. With the VR off, no click. Same on all three Nikon cameras; 7200, 7000, & even 5000.
Will call Nikon on Monday.
Thank you

I am sure they will recommend sending it in, that's what the phone reps are paid to recommend.
Your issue is nothing to be concerned about and is common in many lenses, not just Nikon's. Keep shooting it but if it does bother you and it's still in its 5 year warranty then by all means send it off, at least it will get checked and serviced before they return it. Worst thing is you will be without the lens for a week or two.

I dont think it is a problem unless there is a rattle or constant noise if it does not repeat it probably is ok
