Distance was about 75 feet. Tripod was of moderate quality, column in the lowered position. One leg extension was used, not both. Focus was manual, in live view. Shutter release was with a remote IR trigger, using 2 second timer mode. The release was immediate, since the mirror was already locked up due to being in live view mode.
These were taken in mid to late afternoon, in full sun, at 600 mm, f/8, ISO 800, 1/500 sec. with a Canon EOS 70D, 1.6 crop factor.
Original was raw, 5496 x 3670, cropped to 3703 x 2862. Rawdigger reports 0.5% red, 1.0% green, 0.6% blue, and 1.0% green2 over exposure; no under exposure.
Any and all comments are welcome.
Seems silly to be in live view .....was there a reason for it ??
Very sharp picture. Good composition. Nice Depth of Field. Awesome !!!! I need to have a GAS to get a 150-600.

Great capture, but should be posted in Photo Gallery.
Way too much information here. Was there a question?
Oh, yes, a question: Why are you posting this in Main Discussion?
I like it. Beautiful image.

This is more about the lens, it's performance, and the setup than the image.

No question, just sharing information concerning the lens.
Is your lens the Sport or Contemporary ?

Live view gave me the ability to have the camera at a level that would be difficult to use the eyepiece viewfinder. Also, I was able to enlarge the image for better focus. It also locked up the mirror to prevent vibration.

Same version I recently bought! Excellent sharpness on your picture!

Yep ..... it's called setting your focus as sharp as it can be set.

yes, I do understand that - but, .....IMO, not much relation to the real world usage - unless he intends to use it that way all the time. Makes sense for pictures of the Moon though maybe ?

Wonderful composition. Sharp. The blurred background make the subjects stand out.
