Nice shots....except for that second one...that one is creepy....real creepy....looks like it's going to come out of the screen and into the house....creepy

Thank you to all that responded. Those creepy looking beetles are not very large (1/2 of an inch in overall length) but do big damage to little June apples.

I'd like to know what those beetles are. I've got all kinds of pests to do battle with in my apples, but I've never seen a beetle that looks like that.

Did a google search and believe them to be rose chafers.

Thanks, T_Span. I searched through all the beetle images I could find, but I didn't see any that matched. But, then I only spent about ten minutes doing that, so there were probably a thousand more images I could have looked at. I wonder why they don't seem to be around here.
