This always happens whenever there is a mass shooting somewhere in the US or abroad for that matter. People automatically say, "why do we need those assault rifles" or "why don't we limit them to 5 round magazines? what use could someone have for a 20 or 30 round magazine when hunting game?" or "we should ban all guns so that only police will have them". Boy, I've heard them all. I'm sure you have too. Those people forget what the 2nd amendment is all about. Right after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, one of their admirals said that it was a mistake to attack the US because they had awakened a sleeping giant. In reply another admiral in their fleet said that the US doesn't have a very large armed forces, and the other said, that's where you are wrong. They have the largest armed force in the world. Because he knew that almost every American had weapons of his own and knew how to use them.

God forbid, but if they took all our arms away from us, what do you think might happen if we were invaded again, or worse, we elected a charismatic shithead like Hitler here in the US and there were some like me that would not follow?
