Welcome to Day 130 :) The subject for is today Reflections on the Water. I had to train myself to look for the reflections not just the water. Being in the desert we don't have an abundance of bodies of water. So everytime I see one the car naturally just pulls over LOL. It doesn't need to be a lake, it can be a fountain, or mud puddle .. or even a bowl of water ... as long as it's reflecting something. If you use a larger aperture .. f/11 or so and expose for an area on the water that is near the reflection ... then focus in on the reflection and take the shot .. you should end up with an almost mirror image.
Here are a few examples to get us started. I look forward to seeing what y'all come up with.
PG, Let me be the first to tell you just how important you are to this stream. Thanks for starting it most important Lady. Every day is different. Does not get boring. Unfortunately, I spend, probably, too much time here. But I am learning, or at least trying too. I have no back log of reflections so from here on out, if I have something to post, it will be new.
BTW, Neat pictures. You have some beauties here. Especially like the white Goose.
Hugs,
Jackie
I enjoy your pictures and your lessons every day. Thank you for your time and insight. Decided to jump in and post a few also.

I'm Always watching for Reflections..............
These are straight from the camera. The water was laying on the drop-off roof at a hotel, and my room happened to overlook that roof. The shots are through the hotel window.
I am always watching for ducks and often find them on water. One day upon returning home I asked my husband if he wanted to see the pictures I had taken he replied, " Not unless its a two headed duck ", so I then showed him this first picture.
a male Common Goldeneye
a Long-tailed duck
A male Hooded Merganser

More reflections.
Some of you may have experienced trying to take pictures of a belted Kingfisher. Often its an impossible task. They are so fast and noisy! I was standing on an observation deck by the river when this Kingfisher went whizzing by one day. Ducks can also can take off very quickly too as is shown in this second photo.
This last picture is one of my first digital reflections; clouds above and in the Saint John River.

I love your birds, well worth your patience to get just the right shot..
The first picture is of my daddy 2 weeks before he passed away. About three weeks before he passed away he started walking through his house with his hands up saying he had to go home. A few days after that he told me he needed to go wet a hook because he wasn't going to be around much longer. We went to his brothers pond. It was sad to watch him try to hold the crickets. I let him do as much as he could without help. More got away than on the hook. Soon I had to get away so I walked down the side of the pond and started taking pictures of him. When I got the pictures back there were several that had a perfect reflection of him in the water. I'm thankful I have the pictures because it reminds me of all the good times we had going camping and fishing. Most of the time we would save our fish and have a big fish fry with family and friends. I named this photo "Reflections" because I can remember all the good things he had done for his family, friends and even people he didn't know. He just had a love for others and I'm so proud I can call him my daddy.(4 boy's 1 girl)I'm a first rate daddys girl. I helped him with everything around the farm while the boy's were off playing.
