Canon Battery Grip

I recently purchased a battery grip for my canon t41, it has all the same functions on the grip as on the camera but I was wondering since I have been using BBF setup through the menu I am using the inner most button for my BBF, Will the same button on the Grip also work as if it was as I have it set up now on the camera? Or will I have to go through another setup to be able to use it with grip? Thanks much :)

There are no separate settings when using a grip. The grip settings should emulate the same settings as on the camera. Since you seem to already have the grip couldn't you have tested this yourself in less time than it took to post your question?

I'm with mwsilvers on this. "Push the button, go ahead make my day!" A little more seriously, you probably have a T4i (not a t41), and you don't say whether it is a Canon grip or an aftermarket model. If it is Canon grip, it will be the same. If an aftermarket model it should be the same, but no guarantees.

Good luck

Sorry I did not mention that I am waiting for it to get here. I did not mention it is a Neewer brand after market but has all the same buttons. All the reviews from people who have bought it said it works great they love it. Can't wait til it gets here. GAS GAS & more GAS LOL thanks for the input!

It should be just fine. Please test it and let us know! I use a Canon battery grip, and it is "totally part of the camera", but the buttons are exactly the same, would have problems with BBF if the weren't.

Good luck!

The way you worded it, it sounded to me like you might already have it. You'd be surprised by all the questions we get which could be more easily answered by the posters themselves. Obviously, you can't do that if you haven't received it yet.

I think that you will find that using a grip on the T4i will change your perception of that camera and how to use it. it's a relatively small body, but with the grip attached it fits the hand much better and give you a lot more control. it will feel like you're using a whole different camera and will help balance heavier lenses much better. The only downside is that it's heavier and bulkier with the grip on.

Yes it does, it does it automatically, if you've set up a certain button for your BBF, than it will work with the same button on the grip as well.

speters: Thank You for your direct answer, I never had a Grip before so I wasn't sure if I would have to do a different setup in the menu. Now I know I won't have to worry about it. One question since you already know about the grip, how do you get the battery door off the camera without any damage to cover or camera?

I'll take stab at this. I'm talking from the perspective of using a Canon BG-E8 (not aftermarket) which is the same for Canon T2i, T3i, T4i, and T5i.

The battery door hinge on the camera is spring loaded. Once opened it can be 'fairly easily' removed since the hinges are a spring connection. That battery grip has a recess to place and store the battery door, so it does not get lost and can easily be placed back on the camera. I would hope that the aftermarket models copy the same thing. If in doubt, read the manual. If it tells you how to do it, then it should give you the confidence to try!

If you have trouble, contact me...

Good luck

Hopefully the aftermarket version also stores the cover.
