The images were taken last Sunday. The weather was beautiful and there was still considerable snow. The east rim was closed so we are looking from the west side. The clouds were spectular!

Beautiful area and scenery. There seems to be a bit of chromatic aberration exhibited in both, but considerably in the second. You mentioned using a fisheye lens, which one did you use?

Thanks for the commentary Bob. I'll have to get back to you on which lens as it is out in the car. I shot both hand held which I shouldn't have==my wife is not happy when I drag out the tripod. It is a four shot portrait x 3 HDR which accounts for the chromatic aberration.

Swede, the curiosity regarding the lens was because of the CA. Since you commented on using HDR, that satisfies the curiosity, as it probably wasn't the lens, but the processing. Thanks.

I see there are two idiots on the wrong side of the barrier..last week two idiots had to be air lifted out of the crater after falling 200 ft for that same stupid idea. Beautiful shot anyway..

Unfortunately there were more than two. In addition some of them were jumping about 3 feet from the edge of the snow which was worse. Thanks
