If you change your mind , you can run the very small program again to install Windows 10 . Hope this helps the ones who hate 10 .Tommy : computer repairman

I just go into windows update, and 'hide' the windows 10 update. Every couple of months they send out another one, but it takes 2 seconds to disable that one too...

As of recently, they (MS) are putting it in a hidden folder and it will/can install without your approval. Happened to my daughter, then you have I believe 30 days to roll it back. (KB3035583 is the update file. They (MS) are damned and determined to get it installed on your machine. So far GXW is doing a good job at locating the hidden folder as it happens.

I have watched the "Discussion" on whether to upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 or not for some months now. Would one of the computer experts tell me what happens after July 29, 2016 when Windows 10 upgrade is no longer available for free and costs $120 for Home and $199 for the Pro version. I am yet to be convinced that Windows 10 is really as bad and difficult the comments in Chit Chat have been promoting. Thanks

Too bad they won't upgrade my wife's Vista laptop, to WIN 10. I'd go for that.

you only have to ask yourself , can you remember anyone trying do desperate to GIVE you something great
for free. I haven't been that fortunate. Now if they offer a tablet or something with 10 installed on it. I might Bite.

Affect. The word you want is affect. Effect is the result, not the cause.

I have a laptop and a desktop that came with Win 10, and aside from the speed, I hate it. My wife's computer (desktop) upgraded to 10 and she also complains about the format.

Hey Kiwi, Windows 10 is a very good, stable and efficient operating system. I have had no problems with it over the last 8 months or so its been installed on my desktop and laptop.
Sure, things look a bit different but it is quite simple to navigate, particularly if you come from Windows 7.Just in case you want to go looking for things like Control Panel, a rightclick on the white Windows logo at the bottom left of your screen will give you a menu of options that are extremely 7 like.
Bite the bullet and do it, you will soon learn how to use it. I know that there is a bit of concern that MS wants to troll your machine for info on a regular basis but there are things you can do to counteract that. Just ask Google how.

Yeah, that's what I do too...I keep mine set to not auto install updates, so I can screen the updates before I install them. PS, it's KB3035583

I think anyone who thinks it is worth a try, is foolish not to take advantage of the free update. It's a fabulous OS, best Microsoft has released.
The negative "Chit Chat posts are comparable to the infamous 1% economically privileged. That's probably the ratio of people who have difficulty with the installation. I have helped numerous people with the installation. Not one has any regrets. I recommend going for the free update. Why spend $120 or $199? You can always revert back by your own backup scheme of your OS drive or by the option built into Win 10. I suspect the "Chit Chat" negative comments represent a minority because most the UHH subscribers who have had successful and carefree updates probably do not not write about their positive experiences. I also suspect that those who have had difficulty are technically challenged and/or have inferior/older and incompatible systems. I do not mean to be critical of them, but I do believe it is a common cause of failed Win 10 installations.
