I took this picture today, I am wondering why some of birds are dark and most look like ghost images? Thank you for any comments you contribute. Take care.

Sorry, no clue, but it's a neat effect!
not sure but I think most likely your camera "froze" the dark birds in action but did not freeze the others ...they moved through the shot. if you zoom in they are prob blurry. you can get a similar effect with a slow shutter speed and have someone walk through your shot ... its a ghost image. nice effect.

I think the dark is caused by shadows. It appears that you have brightly lit subjects and in some cases shadows from their wings or other birds placed areas of the birds in a shadow resulting in the sharp contrast.
