Found this little chap while putting the bins out. Luckily, these days, the camera is left in "ready for macro" mode so I was able to take a few shots before it ran for cover.
I think it's a Garden Orb Spider please let me know if that is incorrect.

Nice photos. Yes, I believe it is the Europeon garden spider - Araneus diadematus
