If you wanted to share pictures from upcoming trips what venue would you use?? Something not to complicated to access and view the pictures. Thank You.

I've finally settled on Google Photos. It seems to be able to do just about anything, and using Google will tell you how to do what you want. I put photos into albums and then send links to those albums to people in the group. I make an album for an individual event and put all of those small albums into one large album covering all the group's activities. I just tyupe photos in the address bar, and I'm looking at my pictures.

Does Google Photos try to find and organize all photos on a user's hard drive?

Does GP make use of another's photos for Google business purposes without compensation for these photos?

If I'm only sharing with friends and family, I upload to MediaFire, and email each person a link to the folder with the image set. From there, the visitor has different viewing options, including as a slideshow if they wish.

I have been using Google photos since day one, it will do everything you require.
It also has a basic but very good photo editor, and it's free !

I have been using Dropbox for quite a few years. Put all the photos from a curling bonspiel into the spiel folder with sub-folders for different parts, such as winners, on-ice, warm room, teams, etc. Then invited all 64 curlers plus about 10 others to view and select and copy the photos they were interested in. More than 36 people signed up. It works for me, especially when I am dealing with three or four hundred photos at a time.

I use Dropbox for sending links. Also Shutterfly is great for adding friends and family to your site. When you add photos members get an email. They can log into the site whenever they want also. Free and user friendly.

I use Dropbox to share files with people who know Dropbox and/or require large files. If I'm dealing with a group of folks with limited or no computer savvy who just want memory snaps of a social event I happened to attend, I upload to the Walgreens Photo Center where I have unlimited free storage. Send a link to those waiting for pictures and let them download or order prints from any Walgreens in the country.

I concur!! I have 5 Shutterfly sites. The display is wonderful, settings for sharing, ordering, copying, .. are simple and flexible. I've used Shutterfly for sharing for 7+ years.

If you use Lightroom CC, you should explore the capabilities of the included, Lightroom Mobile. Click the box that synchs your Collection to your mobile device (I use an iPad) and once synced, you can easily create a link to the photographs that can be sent via email or text messages. Note, the resolution of the mass send is fine for mobile devices, but if a print is desired, you should individually send that photo in a larger format...also very easy to do from Lightroom.

I've been using Smugmug for a long time. But most of my photos now go on my own websites. I'm going to look at Google. Consolidating much of my online data to Google sounds like a good idea.
