Sorry about the background, it was close by and I had little time.

The foreground helps to give it prospective. Good job.

I meant to say sorry about the foreground, I wanted a more distinctive one. And ... I really do know front from back but still trying to figure out Shinola.

OK smart a**. ;) You made me go look it up, I thought I knew that one. My Dad said it to me all the time.:) But I didn't know it was boot polish. And all this time I though my Dad was being mean. :)

You're probably safe if all you didn't know was the boot polish part Erv, but if you do not know what the other stuff is, you are are pathetically in trouble!

Wish I were there to help you out boy, but can't do on a public forum. LOL

Very nice photos....I went out to the river and tried to catch the moon rising over a shrine......They turned out like the part before the shinola...ole well i learned not to over expose the moon.

I am so happy to see that someone got a shot of the super moon and included foreground. What is the good of a picture of the super moon if it looks exactly like every other moon picture. Thank you for making my evening.

Very nice. I agree with the others about the foreground, it shows how big it really looked. Good job!!

Great Shots! I wish I could had seen the super moon as it was rising. It was cloudy in the East Saturday evening and I didn't see the moon until after it was getting on up high. I was disappointed. It looked any other full moon. But, when it got dark, the moon was very, very bright.

Thank you all for your kind comments. Glad you enjoyed the pics. I learned long ago that in order for a moon shot to have impact it must be something other than what we tilt our heads back and gaze up at every month. Also I find the best time for a dramatic shot is when the moon rises within 15 minutes before or after sunset and is captured at the horizon with a natural foreground. Second to that are shots where it has risen perhaps 30° to 45° and is over or next to an interesting and discernable landscape or architecture.
