Which one do you prefer and why?
what do I know????I prefer the brighter no 2.......
Pluses and minuses to both. In #2, I find the mirror and frame to be a distraction. Number 1 needs some pp exposure adjustment and the blooms look a little past prime, but I like the composition more.
I like #2 better 'cause the flowers have not fully bloomed out yet like they are going to loose their petals like the ones in #1 look like.
#1 looks dull. I like #2, better lighting

Number 2, flowers are fresh and light is better.

I like the second shot, it shows the reflection in the mirror.

Top photo made with strobe-flash is underexposed, not properly used, not pleasing lighting at all.
Bottom photo is much more natural, shows colors beautifully. A much more pleasing photograph
to view with pleasant composition and lighting, Aammat! AP
I'm picking no. 1. That being said, there is a qualifier. I like the darker background, which focuses the viewer's attention more on the flowers than the conglomeration of things in the background. However, no. 1 needs some serious PP work to really make it work. The flowers could be brighter, but leave the background alone.
In my opinion, the second image is a bit too bright. There are blown areas within the flowers that are as distracting as the background. There is also a lot of peripheral stuff visible that distracts from the flowers.
