It has been great fun working with our local animal shelter making photos of the cats in need of a forever home. Since cats lack the ability to be really cooperative, it has become challenge for me to try and make shots that will entice folks to come in and look at them. Sometimes I am lucky to get one or two to cooperate.
Wonderfully expressive images. And kudos for your participation.
I'm far too emotional about in-need animals to take on something like this, but my current and previous dogs were Humane Society rescues.

I think you have succeeded .
Wonderful!!! Very well done, and you certainly have to be patient when photographing cats. I know, mine can really be a putz at times.
Photographing cats is a lot like shooting a sporting event. Movements come quickly and without much warning. Anticipation is all that works. Thanks for all of the nice comments. I'll have to admit it is some of the most enjoyable photography I've done and very rewarding when I go back and the kitties have been adopted.

Great shots! My only question is how did you avoid taking them all home? 😈
The trick is to not let them know what you want them to do. That way there is a faint chance they will do it! Very charming shots.

Thanks for the time you put in to help out.
Who could resist those beautiful eyes?
Carry a bell, or a whistle, to get their attention right before the shot.
Maybe, if need be, select the eyes in PS and brighten them up a bit. Not needed in any of the great shot you've included.

Looks like you got some cooperation from these beauties. Good for you for working with this shelter.
