Returning from a shopping trip we paralleled this storm. I could not get a good shot from the highway. I turned off on one of Wyoming's ByWays. got the shot and some others and some early spring landscapes.

I continued on the ByWay with a stop in what used to be Armento, WY. Shot the RR tracks there and decided to show my with the International Stock Driveway, there is a big coral and signs telling about it. this area is also on the south end the Hole in the Wall area.

My wife says there is a truck coming yep I see him about 2 miles away. T ruck and I meet where else right where the asphalt ends. I am slowing to stop at the trail head, the red truck is flying when we meet. I am dropping off of the asphalt he is jumping on. At the edge of my vision I see something come off of the truck 1/5000 the rear window explodes in what sounds like a shot gun blast.

my wife says"holy S" what did he throw at us.

Well here we are still 100miles from home and 30 of that is unimproved dirt, no bridges over the creeks. thank goodness it was fairly dry. It was a muddy long and noisy ride home.

Today while vacuuming i found glass on the floor next to the drivers seat.

Oh yes $100.00 deductable

I lost the driver's side window to my pickup about 20 years ago on US 12 between Baker & Miles City, MT. I met the FedEx delivery guy coming the other way and he picked up a little rock and it shattered the window. I was 40 miles from Miles City and it was February...about -10. That was one cold ride into town.

Welcome to Wyomings back roads, or racetracks as the locals call them.

Thanks for the comments everyone, I am glad it did not take out the windshield and that it was not below zero. Never did get a decent photo

Your story reminds me - Last year we were excitedly leaving town for a fishing trip and were about 8 blocks from home; my husband came to a stop at the light and our canoe came straight through our back window. What a sight! Glass everywhere. I (yes it was me) forgot to lock down the trailer hitch and turned it into one expensive little trip.

After reading these stories I must say we have been very fortunate. Re: damage - Husband driving down the street, a Black Walnut fell from its tree and struck the windowshield.
Left a bullet hole. No prob. Ins, covered it. Why this story stands out for us is that the next year another Black Walnut fell from its tree and struck the windshield again. We started to think the Black Walnuts had it in for us. ;-D) "Duck for cover."
