Really cool. How far away from light pollution were you?. I tried some from my house in country didn't come out near as good as yours

Light pollution in bottom left was between 25 and 30 miles away. Cloud cover was a concern earlier in the evening but by the time the Milky Way was visible and I got the shot it was 2 AM, almost all cloud cover was gone. My camera is a Nikon D 7100 with a Rokinon 16mm F2 lens. I use Manual mode, Shutter speed set to 25 seconds, ISO 4000 with tripod and cable release. For second image I did some post processing to enhance color and structure. Fun to get out and see one of the wonders of our world and to capture the moment. Happy shooting.
