I ordered a Sony a6300 from Cameta back in March. It was before anyone had them in stock. Cameta shipped it as soon as they had one.
I spent a week shooting with the kit lens (Not too bad) and with the other two lenses I had for my a6000 (f1.8 50mm and 18-200 zoom) Somehow I could never get a well-focused image. Called Cameta and they sent me a shipping label. Said they would test it and then either refund or replacement.
I shipped on Monday and got a call on Friday. They said they had tried it with the same results. Then they simply did a factory reset and the problem disappeared. I could either get a refund, or a replacement or I could have the same camera--since it is now working fine. I chose to have a replacement.
They shipped the replacement and I received it on Thursday next. (Which means they got it out right away.) I've tested the heck out of it and everything works great. (I have not tested the video, but may do so this Saturday.) I've put the kit lens on my a6000 (Did I say that for a cheap kit lens, it really isn't bad.) and am using my 18-200mm.
This is my fourth purchase from Cameta but the first one that had a problem. The Cameta crew did a magnificent job to satisfy my needs.
And I love my a6300.
.Although I have only one experience with them (purchased a refurbed D7100) It was a good experience and I got a 1-year warranty as opposd to 90 days from Nikon.
I like happy endings and am pleased that you had a good experience as well. Most of the time we seem to get only the negative issues.
SO, it was a camera setting that was preventing sharp focus?
I've had a few experiences with Cameta and they have all been "Top Flight." Great over-the-phone customer service.
Me too.
I have used Cameta several times and bought returns from them and also their extended warranties. Dropped a lens and sent it back and they repaired it no questions asked. Love Cameta!
Cameta is always my first choice, l just received on wensday my Sony 85mm G master lens, they always gave me a fair market value on a trade
I suppose you sent the entire box with all contents to Cameta before getting replacement. Different serial numbers on boxes?
Bill Cameta has been in business since the 1960's if not before then. he has always had an excellent reputation in the photographic world.

It's not how far you fall, but how high you bounce back, right?
I ordered a LUMIX GH4 and 12-35mm f/2.8 LUMIX G X Vario zoom bundle from Cameta a while back. All was well with all of it.
I don't use many of the bundled items (other than the memory card and battery), but they all work.
Since there are no real camera stores in my area, Cameta, KEH, Adorama, and B&H are my go-to dealers. I've not had any issues with any of them.
Cameta is a great company to buy from. I have made several purchases from them and they are top notch. So far as I can see they are the only ones giving a 1 year warranty on refurbished vs 90 days. I even ordered a lens by mistake and they gladly took it back and refunded my money quickly.
The praise for Cameta caused me to check their site for the Nikon 200-500mm Nikon lens I am considering. BUT, they offer kits that sets you up with filters, a flash, or a tripod and other accessories for the list price for the lens. Free shipping as do others as well. Certainly a consideration to make before buying. I didn't see any spot to inquire about trade-ins though, as I intend to trade in my Sigma 150-500 lens when I buy.
