I really love the film noir/black and white portraits - wondering if I did a good job with the

*posing
*editing

Two things I notice right away. Her hair seems as though it's not falling naturally and it's cut off at the edge of the frame. She has no lines under her eyes at all. It makes her look puffy and unnatural. I think you went too far with softening under the eyes. The skin on her face doesn't match the skin on her body. It has a porcelain doll look that the skin on her body does not have. I'm no expert on portraits, but those are my amateur observations.

Maggie, I like them both but the re-edited one is better. B&W works well with this image and I like the pose and how you processed it overall.

This is much better than your first posting, which was greatly overdone in the editing department.

I like the lighting, but would like to see her turned a bit more away from the camera. If the camera was a bit higher it would have improved her jaw line making her look a bit slimmer . . . and please get her out of the centre of the frame. Think "rule of thirds"

Hope that helps . . . nice job!

Well, Maggie to me your first edit is a One Eyed Jack... the remainder of the photo is just there to support the one eye that is the fix of our focus.. Flawed by "rules"... Yes... but effective breaking of rules... Yes. Great impact.

I really like the second picture. Just a little cropping on the right edge would move her from the center, and she's be perfect to me. Definitely Film Noir!
