She learned how to push a button but never learned how to do so with a few simple photographic techniques in mind. She may not even care. If like so many youngsters I know, she just wants to share the brio and froth of the moment with friends and family. They are all supposed to get it by viewing the picture for its content and intent, not its technical quality. The camera functions as a social tool. End of story.

Well Bo, she likes them, so if it offends your sensibilities you have two reasonable choices, either you can take the time to teach her, or else you can just say "thanks for sharing those moments".

is completely correct. A result of technologies' forward march and the universal human desire to be recognized. Of course the kids want the instant gratification, and fame, who of us doesn't?
But amongst all that, are also artists. They will rise above it. After all, you did. Look for that person, offer them a hand up if you feel inclined.
