In all truthfulness it was easier today with the wind blowing and me shaking the hard part was getting the movement coordinated.

thats the upside to using a flash...........freezes the movement,

Do you own a standard speedlight? If so, you are 95% of the way towards macro-photography at ISO 100, 1/200-sec at f/16.

Today I sadly say no I do not but it is on my wish list with a birthday looming before too long.

Most macro-photographers use their speedlights in manual setting, so the newest models are not really necessary. You want as high a GN as you can buy for a reasonable price. I purchased my current speedlight (used) on eBay for about 1/3 new price.
