I thought I would post a couple of pictures of my place here in Missouri.
Many of you are correct, in this state we do not have a lot of money, we don't have the largest educated population. We also don't have the largest tax individual tax burden.
In my community most of us live comfortably, we raise and trade vegetables, beef, chicken, honey, and labor among ourselves. We try to help out those who come up short, and work together to better all our lives.
We man not have grand shopping centers, great theaters, and swinging nightlife, you can find all this in our two major cities, but many of us are willing to forgo these things for the quality of life we have.

Missouri is just like every other place in the USA, has it's good points and bad points. My wife has family there. I never understood people attacking other people over the place they live. I have only been to Missouri once although I am scheduled to do three to five projects there in the next 2 years. Am I correct in understanding that you have a big rivalry with Kansas?

I have read that the governors have some kind of dispute going over some tax issue to attract business, I really don't pay attention to the political squabbling. No point to it.
Next time you get down this way, stop buy for a great home grown steak.

here's the thing... you are pretty safe on the internet from personal attack.

They can attack what you say (if they have the intelligence)
They can attack your avatar
They can attack any images you are foolish enough to post
They can attack your location (or even lack of a location)

Agreed. It is only when I see the unimaginable irony of people from a place like Missouri attempting to put down the culture or genes of the British, for example, and even to go so far as to bring up inbreeding (LOL!) that I feel compelled to remind that person, "um...you realize that you are from..."

I was thinking more along the lines of sports teams rivalry, particularly at the college level.

My first question would be, is there any fish in those ponds?

Some Bass, a few Catfish, and some Bluegill, not all however in that pond, I have 4 ponds. The fish are not very large, but it is high adventure for the grand kids to safari out with a bag lunch and a fishing pole to "fight the big ones" It is quite the procession, kids, dogs, and the chickens usually follow for the easy steal of a worm, peanut butter sandwich, or mislaid candy.

Every time you touch your keyboard you remind us all what an unmitigated ass you are. You take great pride in your internet anonymity don't you.

Feel free to childishly edit and repost my comment. It's about all you are capable of.

Sorry Opus, I really don't follow sports, I seem to find plenty to keep me occupied just improving and maintaining my place, it is what I enjoy doing.

Keenan, you would probably find that in St Louis or Kansas City you would fit right in and find many people who have the same values you do. Out in the country however it would be different. It's that you would not be accepted or shunned in any way, people simply wouldn't pay any attention to you, they would not care what you thought of them, they would simply go about their business. However they would still wave when you passed them in the field, hold open the door at the super market when you approached and smile when you walked by.

Hey that's what life is all about, enjoying what you have. Looks like a very nice relaxing place you have there. As far as the steak goes I went to a steak house in K.C., although I can't remember the name. Anyway somebody told me you could get really good steak in K.C., they lied. It wasn't good, it was freaking fabulous. As good as anything I ever had in Chicago or N.Y.

I wouldn't know about the steak houses, never seem to get the time to go to one, however, our beef is grass fed, never sees a feedlot, only get medicated when they need it, like last week one of the cattle stepped on a nail. We pulled the nail and gave her an antibiotic shot, then back to work in the pasture.
The only thing you may not appreciate is that our meat is very lean, maybe more than you are use to.
