Took my EOS 80D out yesterday for a spin.
The new autofocus system is going to take a little getting use to. The easiest way to adjust the focus points is on the touch screen. On my EOS 60D it was all done through the view finder.
Setting the camera up was a snap. Took maybe two minutes, then it was ready to go. It uses the same battery as my 60D, the controls are very similar so all in all a very easy transition for me.
The 100% view in the viewfinder is nice, but the 45 focus points are, well amazing. Im also excited about the extended high dynamic range of the new chip. On the 60D I could easily recover details from up to two stops. I saw a video where (at 100 ISO) they easily recovered shadow details at 5 stops.
Wish I would have had it on my last trip. Oh well, time to plan another one.
Outstanding Looking West Image. A prize winner.

The 45 focus points are nice but I find I have it set on the center most of the time. I've been very pleased with mine so far. I just acquired a D7200 and just for fun I'm going to do some comparisons to see how close the Canon engineers are getting to matching the Sony sensors dynamic range. It's just a matter of time...
The dynamic range and focus in this image are spot on. Couldn't ask for much more.
I would clone or crop the bottom right corner - that is where my eye was drawn to - nice image otherwise.
