The value of Light!!!...and a fox!!!

I am a real amateur photographer and never truly understood the true value of artificial lighting.....but this photo made it sooo clear😉 Two nights ago we were at our cabin on Lake Buchanan in the Texas Hill Country when my husband excitedly yelled that the fox was behind the cabin. We had seen it several times during the day, but never at close range. He had the flashlight and I grabbed my Canon SX50 and through the glass window (have no idea what settings, but most likely on auto and no flash) got this photo. It is not very clear or sharp, but I was excited that I captured the fox at all and the total affect of the lighting. My granddaughter asked if she could put it on Traces of Texas Facebook where 246 people have already shared the photo.

The star of the show!

Had you carefully thought about it and adjusted your settings, most likely you would have come up empty handed!

We are in Texas also and in the country. We have a fox that runs through our back yard on occasion. They are really beautiful, aren't they?

It's a nice spontaneous shot and obviously something you can talk about for some time to come

Thank you. It was a fun to actually see the fox on my camera and not just a black screen.

No BamaTexan.... I know the Eagles are suppose to be around Lake Buchanan, but the only place I ever saw one was on the river boat cruise several years ago. They were way too high for my camera.

There is a nest just off the highway to Fredericksburg. I shot pics there. I do not remember the highway #.
