Need a little advice, please.

The "Cinco de Mayo" moon is this Saturday night and I need advice on settings. I have a Nikon d5100 and a 55-200mm lens. Any suggestions on settings to photograph said moon would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Since this is a full moon, the light reflection from the sun is going to be nice and strong so initially you might stay at 100 ISO and adjust shutter to 125 or 250. A setting of F/16 or higher is recommended. Take about 50 shots varying your settings and then pick and choose with careful PP.

Just my thoughts that I will use if no clouds in the NH area.

I might also suggest a longer lens.

MT is correct if the Moon is to be the main subject of your shots. If, on the other hand, you want a somewhat larger than normal rendering as part of a pastoral scene, then the lens you cite should do, if you keep it above the 100mm mark.

These settings were suggested in a previous thread. With a 300mm lens, at f16, iso 200, shoot 1/200th. At ISO 400, shoot 1/400th, still at f16.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I picked up a 55-300 mm lens yesterday and I will try the suggested settings.
Thanks again. I will post results.
