Right now, 42st Photo is offering the Nikon 18-140 lens for $269; Just over half what B&H is asking. It is a non-issue for me as I shoot Pentax and Sony. Just wondering if any "Nikonians" would risk it

the only way I would buy from them is to walk in to the store
see it , feel it,try it and then probably pay cash so they dont have my credit card #
A few people here have had no problems but MANY have had a lot of problems with them.
You can get this same lens as a refurbished for $299.96 at Nikon USA. We at this forum do not recommend buying at 42ND Street Photo. However, as usual there will be a few who are satisfied with their products and customer service. Not me, forever.

The answer should be obvious: some would and some would not. Got any other brilliant questions?

Did you inherit your sarcastic and antagonistic attitude, or did you earn it on your own?

I made no attempt to be sarcastic. If you ask a question with an obvious answer, you should expect to receive one. If you find that to be antagonistic, then so be it.

if taking a chance on losing money is not a concern, go for it. what you need to be careful of is the hidden costs that go with purchasing from a dealer with a poor reputation. they sell you one thing, then try to force you to buy something else to make it work, don't see that would happen with a lens, but with them, who knows?

Wow! I realize that this is just your opinion (and so far I see another Hog agreeing with you,) but you've got me convinced till I learn otherwise. No, I don't and never plan to live in NY state. My top Internet retailers for photographic equipment are B&H, Amazon, & Adorama with KEH thrown in as well wrt used equipment.
Thanks for posting!

Nobody with an IQ higher than 8 would buy anything from 42nd St. Photo.

That's hyperbole at its worst.
only if I got it through Ebay! I've purchased a few small items from 42nd St. through Ebay and they sent me exactly what I ordered. Because it was through Ebay there was no personal contact and any upselling involved.
This lens is undoubtedly grey market. I've bought grey market items in the past and have had no problems with them. I know I gambled, but in my cases the gambles paid off!
I just followed my own advice and checked out Ebay; 42nd Street's prices are competitive with other Ebay sellers (assuming the lenses are comparable). Some prices are even better.
