"Seeing" is "average" according to "Clear Sky Chart" but I am having one of my better nights....so I plan to do meridian flip and let Astrotortillia plate solve and pick it up again.

The Alignmaster is nailing polar alignments. Check out this 5 hours readout in PhD2

Working on M101 .....6 minute exposures ...hope to get 60 good images....fingers crossed.

Looks good. I am online with remote support, last 4 hours, on my PC trying to figure out why the user profile in Windows 10 has become corrupted after a Windows upgrade.

I, like many, have a "love hate" relationship with computers. I use MACs with one exception.....for Astronomy, I bought two laptop, a Dell and a Lenova both running Windows 10 and so far....knock on wood. Good luck.
I just flipped - plate solved - and have resumed imaging! I'ts chilly but a great night for having "up fun"! I plan to sleep until 5:30....then work on Darks, Bias, and Flats at daybreak!

Great to hear your results were positive and look forward to seeing the results.
My remote service session was successful. Windows 10 is healthy again. Strange, ugly problem. Something went wrong during a Windows 10 update and my User Account was corrupted and the ability to create a new one wasn't able to work.

I previously had a 3 hour remote session with Microsoft and that session was unsuccessful and I was told I would need to reinstall Windows 10 from scratch and then have to reinstall all my applications -- which I did not want to do.

And then I did a remote session with www.reimage.com. Got a very persistent Windows expert who was eventually able to fix the problem. I already had their SW to fix PC problems as they arise, and this 4 hour session was at no extra charge. PC is purring again. Happy camper again.

I find that being a beta tester for Windows is well beyond what I consider sane. After all, The Enterprise never had to stop in the middle of a warp drive an update anything!!! Why should I?

Looking forward to seeing what you captured!

I hurried through post processing just to see what I had. I would be happy to add these files to drop box if you want to try your hand at DSS, PixInsight or other programs that you may use to see what you come up with.

Rain tonight and tomorrow too....but Friday night looks ok and I hope to start imaging the Elephant Trunk about 2:30 am using the Newt! I think that is IC 1396A

Beautiful job Ed, I can't see that it needs any other processing. Your stars are nice and round, that tracking with PHD worked great. Of course a primary alignment helps a lot too. I did a couple small tweaks in Lightroom.

Very well done. I have been researching EQMod, and love the flexibility it gives to existing mounts. I also love that it's all open source, as all information should be.

Nice capture of 101, the detail is top notch. If you don't mind me asking what was your total integration time?

That would be a toughie for me -when imaging from my home as the NW sky is lined with trees...tall trees. If I started at 9:00pm I would have less than an hour before it dipped below the trees....then it is bye bye for the night.

I am going for the Elephant Trunk either Friday or Saturday ....since I will be using the 8 inch NEWT at F/3.9...I will not need multiple nights to gather data. This huge cluster of nebulae will rise above my trees at 2:30 am....so I will shoot 3 hours worth, guessing 60 seconds max exposure at 1600 ISO. We shall see, 3 hours of exposure plus dithering should produce 130 to 150 usable subs - lots of air traffic in that area of the sky. I will take the bias and darks starting at 10:00 pm and get those out of the way....then set up the 2:30 shoot - using Backyard EOS for Nikon and EQMOD to program the shooting and park the scope when done so I can sleep while gathering info.

Looking forward to it!

Yes, I would like to try processing this. I have about given up on DSS as I never get much color from it. I think I will pull the trigger on Nebulosity and purchase it now that I have figured out the crashing problem.

You used the full frame camera I presume? And this was with the 8" Newt? Did you have any vignetting to deal with? I have the 48mm T-ring for my full frame camera and can still see some vignetting. When I use the APS-C camera, all vignetting is gone.

I will add to dropbox.....PM me your email so I can send you a sharing invite.

I wanted to use the NEWT but also wanted to fill the frame with minimal cropping so I went with longer exposures and the 8 inch SCT at F/10. I have lost confidence in the AVX so I drug out the Atlas. I plan to use the NEWT tomorrow night - skies permitting (weather is now predicting clouds) as 800 may even to much for the Elephant....I may use the Nikon 200x400 F/4....400mm is probably the right focal lenght.

On another note, I had to return my AVX hand controller - it went bad a few weeks ago....they did expedite a new replacement - then I got another one yesterday. So I will call them and see what I need to do....for the headaches I am tempted to keep it.

About the NEWT, when I first got it I used the D810a which is full frame and had some vignetting but no more than I seem to have on other scopes excepting the Nikons 400 and 200x400 but you would not expect much if any on these two lens
