If people actually took a little time to get off their backsides and read the manual of their apparently far too complicated toys most of us wouldn't have to waste our time spoon feeding the lazy sods........

Could you explain your post? I only read the first 5 or 6 words. BTW, while I have your attention, can you tell me how to turn on my camera? Thanks in advance! :-D

Now I'm confused, I usually sit on my backside to read. If I stand up or lay on my front-side I'll soon become uncomfortable and not want to read. Also sitting on my backside is the best position to look at menus and buttons on my camera while reading the manual. A little more advice please.

You're obviously a good little manual reader so you are in my good books.....The only advice I could give you is keep it up! You're setting and excellent example.

So maybe rather than "get off" the backside and read it would be a good recommendation to put backside sitting to good use and use it to read the manuals. :XD: It is also amazing, at least in my camera which I'm sure is typical, how much user manual information is in the camera in the menus. "Almost" don't need the manual. Almost everything like white balance and metering has popup windows that show the intention of each of the settings.

You know how words can create images?? -- but the difference of our cultures was just made clear to me when your words brought up a vision of a fashion doll covered with tiny shrimp rather than a bed of charcoal warming those jumbos to sizzling perfection.

I think I'll go find a manual and read it..... I think Chilton's is on the shelf around here somewhere...................... :) :) :)

It has to be turned on? My trusty canon F-1 has no on/off switch

if everyone read the manuals, there would be little need for this website, and we would not have any avenue to vent our frustrations.
