Thirty great photos. I went to a celebration picnic last summer, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the end of World WarII. It was an experience. Some veterans showed up in U.S. military uniforms of the period. Thanks for sharing. I will share these photographs with friends.

We were at the movies the night Peace was declared. The movie was stopped. the theatre manage walked on to the stage and announce "The War is Over" the crowd wend crazy!!!!!!

I really enjoyed the photos as hard was some were to view. It is really a shame to see some of the same things happening all over again. So sad to see what schools and universities are teaching our young kids today.

You automatedly think of Hitler and the atrocities he initiated. In the long run Stalin was the bigger butcher.

At 84 years of age vividly recall @WW II,Dec. 7th,DDay,FDR's death and was in D.C. on VJ day. Man's inhumanity to man sadly continues today !
