She is good because she also gets points for being a minority.
Why not a native American?
I don't understand why we needed the change? Just another way for the government to spend the taxpayers money by creating a new version, IMO.

Except Florence Nightingale wasn't American so why should she be on an American banknote?

Name a famous social reformer who was a female Native American. The first female Native American I can think of is Pocahontas.
There was Mildred Loving who was a civil rights activist in the 60s. Also Sacagawea who was a Shoshone interpreter best known for being the only woman on the Lewis and Clark expedition into the American West.
Also Edmonia Lewis the first professional African-American and Native-American sculptor, Edmonia Lewis earned critical praise for work that explored religious and classical themes.
Susan La Flesche Picotte was the first Native American woman to become a physician in the United States. A member of the Omaha Reservation, she worked tirelessly for her people.
But truthfully, how many of you have heard of them?

Not being an American, I didn't know that.
A rumor was out that it could be Eleanor Roosevelt. Wife of FDR. There are so many that could qualify though.
My guess would be Susan B Anthony....

Maybe the $10 bills in circulation are beginning to wear out.
