Adobe in Australia has just announced a price increase of $2.00 for the LR/PS monthly sub when current subs end. They are blaming it on currency fluctuations. The Aussie dollar is about 0.75 US at the moment. Watch Out!

Traditionally they have always been more expensive down under compared to the US. I know, I have bought copies of PS for family there years ago because it was so much cheeper to purchase it here in the US.

Watch out for what? Currency fluctuation?

In case you have not noticed the hardware changes (camera/lens) as the currency goes up and down. There is nothing nefarious here but your interpretation of it.

If you pay even closer attention ANYTHING that is imported follows the currency exchange.

I'm not sure that that is correct.
Most large (and even not so large) companies that are exporting regularly buy forward exchange to even out the exchange rate.
Software and hardware are now quite different export products as in most cases software doesn't involve anything other than a download so there is no control by the importing country to levy import charges, GST etc.
Additionally, both NZ and Australian governments are investigating export of profits on sales that involve literally billions of dollars of profits on which no tax is being paid by the likes of Adobe, Microsoft and others.
In other words, not only are the country's being ripped off, the consumer here sees no benefit either.
As there is no local product to compete, consumers have no choice other than to buy the overseas product. Albeit knowing we are being ripped off in the process.
I would think the likes of Adobe would have forward exchange cover for sure so this is probably just a price increase and some smart marketing dept at Adobe says "let's put it down to currency exchange".
I wonder if the price ever goes down when the exchange rate goes the other way.
Bet you it won't.

That I will not dispute. Just check the price of oil. Quick to go up and goes down only when a few govt start asking question why it is not going down so small fries like Adobe?

Consider paying in USD... If available as an option.

You have the bank fee 3% and daily bank current rate.

Nope. They have that covered too.
Here in NZ we cant download Adobe from the US. Have to go via Australia website so pay another exchange rate.
Our cost is US$ converted to AU$ then converted to NZ$ (at the exorbitant bank card rate).
Everyone gets a bite of the cherry. Grrrrr.
Still, there are other advantages to living here :)

Nice, I shot mine with a 10 stop ND filter to help remove the tourists. I can't believe all the tourists climbing all over those boulders. They must do a ton of damage.
