Have some amazon gift cards since Christmas. Just decided to get a wide angle. But I can't make up my mind.
10mm or 11 to 16

Don't care about the extra stuff but Cameta is a good store to deal with.

16mm would be best, the 10mm and 11mm could start giving you a fish eye look if you are focusing out very far.

The Rokinon is a lot of fun, but you have to keep focus on Infinity and the lens wide open and shoot in Apature mode. The Tokinon will allow you to use whatever mode in your camera, P-A-S-M that you desire.

Hint: To minimize the fisheye effect of a 8 0r 10 mm, make sure you hold the camera level. Any tilt up or down with maximize the fisheye effect.

Adobe Lightroom can, with RAW files, adjust out the fisheye distortion.

I got the Rokinon 12mm f2.0 for my A6000 a few days ago. I love it. It gets a lot of praise for its low light /astro capabilities, but it is beautiful for daylight also. Feels and looks great on the camera also. Getting hard to find in stock and prices are over the place. I was just about to click to buy and got interupte, came back 5 hours later and it had gone up $80. Still - no regrets.

It's really your call. 10mm is fixed, the application is going to be slightly limited. 11-16mm shows more versatility. I parked my 15mm in favor of an 11-24mm, the variety has been unreal. That is just one person's opinion. If possible shoot with both before choosing, there is a huge difference in the two lenses. Good luck with your choice, but you really can't make a bad decision.

If you want my vote. I would go with the Tokina 11-16 zoom. The lens is well regarded and the zoom is more flexable. I have a Tokina lens. I also have or have the Korean fixed lens which is more special purpose.

You will also find many UWA used lenses for sale.

Good luck.

I have the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 and have never experienced a fish eye distortion. I give it the highest recommendation. I use it on a Nikon D300.

I like my new Tokina AT-X 11-20mm over my older 11-16

I always recommend going to the camera store and trying out the lenses on your body. There is no way you can decide looking at our posts. YOU must put them in your hands and try them out. Did you mail order your last car?

The 11-20 is the updated version of that lens, I think that is what I would be looking at. I imagine that you do know that the Rokinons are manual focus and aperture, they are great lenses but so are the Tokinas.

I use a Rokinon 14
It is a hoot BUT
if you are a manual user it is great
But I use Sony and the lens is ONLY manual- still a great lens for the money
10 mm might go a bit fishy esp close up
Amazon allows 30 day returns, try 'em out and see which is best
