Visited at the home place this afternoon and picked a few stems to propagate. But of course I had to take pictures of the flowers too. I played around with the last one.

It's definitely that time of year. In NC they've just appeared out of their buds. By this weekend, there will be a riot of color. I am in search of some unusual colors this season.

Well I hope you find some. There are a riot of them out there. Catalogues are your best bet and on line.

Thanks Bob. I really didn't have a lot to work with. The azaleas at the home place are sparse this year. I hope to get a plant or two from that lilac colored one. The whites are in tight bud now but should be out next week. I only have the pink ones in my garden and they came from those at the home place.

And they readily propagate even on their own. Beautiful shots, Corolyn! It looks like you have the old fashioned giants..my favorites.

Corolyn, gorgeous. I will be staying around the castle today (home) but have the flowers starting to bloom here so I will not be limited in photos today. Thanks for sharing.

We have some of the smaller blossomed kind as well. They are easy to propagate in place by laying down a limb to the ground and placing a rock on the stem closest to the plant. I and Papa used to do this all the time when we had one to die.
Thanks for the comments. :-D :-D :-D
