What is more mortifying than to feel you have missed the plum for wanting of courage to shake the tree?

Hi, carlysue!
Now for the critique; I do like your use of negative space but perhaps it is a little too much. If you crop it to an 8x10 format, that will take care that. Oh, and 86 that little white speck to the right.

The colors, composition and lighting are great! But I have to agree with tainkc, there is too much negative space above the container and plum and that light colored speck to the right distracts the eye.

Colors and lighting are great. It would look good in a square format.

Rich warm color, great light, and a beautiful image, Carla. I'd agree about cutting a tad from the top of this, but it's a beautiful image even the Dutch Masters would be thrilled with! Excellent effort on this one!!!

RichardTaylor, I certainly appreciate your time to look and comment. I checked out your work, as well, as I have missed seeing your images. You have quite a variety and some remarkable street scenes--a genre I struggle with. Thank you for your kind comment, I do tend to slant towards the darker side. :D

Hey,Tom! That stupid speck! I did see it prior to posting and meant to fix that! I am so ADD anymore, can't keep on task! I cropped it at differently several times and it felt kinda cramped. I'll take another look. Sometimes I have to walk away for a while and then relook. Thanks! :-D

Thank you for looking in and taking the time to comment,Will. Check out my note to tainkc (Tom), I will fix that distracting spot and take a relook of the crop. Your comments are very encouraging and helpful.
