I have a Nikon 7100 and when I use a card reader to upload my
images into Element 14 it says NO Device found does not recognize the card reader. The card reader is attached to my mac computer via a UBS attachment. When I upload with attachment directly from camera it works. I have been using card reader for many years and it always worked. On the side of the SD card is a lock but the is not closed. Thanks for any help

Nothing lasts forever. You've tried this several times, after shutting down and restarting? Try it on another computer. If it doesn't work on that, it's time to spend another $10.
You may try the reader on another computer.
I bought a new card reader and still does not work.

Did the new reader come with its own cable? If it's not the reader or the cable, the only other choice is a situation with the computer.
Did you recently updated the Mac iOS? I had the same issue with a USB thumb drive. I could read it on a Mac but not on a Windows PC which was strange.
If you upload direct from your camera and it works why not always use that method.
USB card readers can be unreliable, the ones I use are the type you plug directly into the computers USB port.
The card readers which use a USB lead can be a bit dicey so try different USB lead and see if that works.
Personally I avoid removing my SD cards from the camera as this is when they can become corrupted or damaged.
I always though it was safer using a card reader rather then going direct from the camera

It sounds to me like the system hasn't "automounted" the reader and to fix this, open the Mac "Disk Utility", click on the appropriate entry for the "USB device" under any other drives that are listed for the system and then click on the blue mount button in the menu.
The disk utility can be found in your application directory in the Mac "Finder".
That should fix the problem.

Did any of the above suggestions actually solve your problem?
It would be nice to know --- a little feedback will encourage people to want to continue to help on this forum.
I was able to find Disk Utility. The next instruction was to click on entry for USB device. I did not find that. Could you tell me more about finding the device or about getting it in there.
Based on the difficulty you seem to be having, I suggest visiting
http://getsupport.apple.comThe technical support folks you can connect with should be able to give you the guidance you need to resolve this problem or refer you to your nearest Apple Store Genius Bar for help if they can't.
Depending on when you connect, you will either have an online chat session or arrange for a telephone callback at a time of your choosing. While getsupport is free and 24/7, telephone support is limited to 14-hours per day.
