Milky Way with the Nikon D750

I am heading to Yosemite tomorrow with my new Nikon D750 and it occurred to me that I might try some milky way shots. I have read on various sites that settings of around ISO 3200, F/2.8, and 30 sec are a good starting point. As this is my first Nikon camera, I haven't figured out how to go completely manual so I can select all three settings. I apologize if this is a basic question, but boy, the D750 has a LOT of setting options.

Thanks.

Phil

Can't help you with your camera, but experiment with you ISO setting,1600 seems more reasonable, but again, I'm not familiar with your camera.
