I think you may be a bit confused. Both programs reside on your computer. There is no "cloud" in the subscription. All images are also on your computer. LR & PS are tools to create a catalog and post process (adjust) your images.

The "cloud" part of the Adobe PCC subscription means that (1) program updates and upgrades happen via an Internet connection as they become available; and (2) the program itself downloads via the Internet -- no CD involved as before.

By this means, Adobe has added features with little fanfare: for example, Dehaze Filter and Camera Shake Reduction.

For my part, I have been most pleased with the cloud mechanism to fulfill my Adobe software license.

Note: I am not a shill for Adobe, only a satisfied user.

This page might help you.

Basically, if you want to use the cloud service (you get some space in the cloud, just like with Google Drive)

It is a limited amount of space and you are not required to make use of it, but you can if you like.

No "uploading" is necessary, as Mark has said. The first thing you do is download the Creative Cloud desktop application and install it. It monitors your subscription to determine if there are any updates available for your chosen apps. Then, using the desktop app, install those apps you want. You can install any of them, but if you aren't currently subscribed to any particular app, it is installed as a "Try It" type situation. PS and LR will install on your computer, and you can then go to work on your images.

There is confusion here, including mine!

Besides getting Photoshop and Lightroom via the CC license you get "mobile" things. Included are additional applications for tablets, phones and web.

Attached is a screenshot of some photos on my "Adobe Cloud". I've not learned how to manage them yet. I do know that it has something to do with a "collection" that is "synced".

Don,

Thanks, but I don't need a link to tutorials! I'm in the middle of a focused effort at understanding the Photoshop I get for free with my Lightroom CC subscription. It seems the evil engineers at Adobe have spent over 20 years stuffing Photoshop with amazing and complex tools and options. I've got tutorials coming out my ears. It is a good thing I no longer have a job!

Much of Photoshop won't be useful to me as a photographer, but there is a lot that is. My goal is to train my brain to know what in Photoshop combines with Lightroom to make a set of the best tools in my personal toolbox.

It is a project I'll never finish, but when I've further along I intend to understand more about the mobile and "Lightroom on the Web" apps.

Using the Mobile app means simply this. If you have turned on "Syncing" on any of your Collections, those images are copied to Adobe's site. Now, using the Mobile app on a tablet will connect to that site at Adobe and display the images in the Collection.

If you don't want any of this, go to your Collections and turn off syncing for those Collections you don't want to sync.

Thanks for the suggestion. I do want it on. I'm currently fascinated with the camera addition to the Android LR. I can snap a picture with my clever/smart phone and it will be on my computer, cataloged by LR and ready for immediate post processing. That's one smart Cloud Adobe has!

Fully understand about Photoshop - I have been at it for almost 3 years now, and feel fairly comfortable in it - loads more to know. The tutorials here are more about the cloud and syncing then photoshop though.

The cloud services are similar to Google Drive - load files into your Adobe Cloud folders and they are synced to your cloud account - then there are fonts and other files that you can add to your library for use in Photoshop as well.

FWIW - I synced a few fonts, but do not sync images with the cloud yet.

Hmmm... did not try that from my iPhone - I was syncing images with iCloud, then using an app on my Mac to move the synced files to a folder for Lightroom to import automatically when files are present.... will have to give that method a shot ;)
