Is anybody unhappy with the Canon T3i? Costco has a 2-lens kit for under $1,000. It sounds like a great deal, but I don't have deep enough pockets to make a mistake. I would be moving up from the Canon SX 40.

I bought the T3i in October and I love it. I had the Xsi before and handed it down to my daughter. I bought a one lens kit (18-55) and paid $870 back then. Tossed around the T3 and T2 and T2i. I chose the T3i for the movable view screen and the most megapixel that I could afford.

It is a very fine camera for the money. I would not get the kit long zoom lens though. I had that lens and it was not very sharp at all. I am planning to buy the 70-300 Tamron for Canon...it is considered the sharpest in the class.

Thank you. That is exactly the kind of info I am looking for.

I have the Tamron lens, I have taken some really good pics with it, and although pretty good lens for the $$, I am going to trade for the Canon 100-400 - because it is SO much sharper than the Tamron, and a litle more reach. But it is not a lens that I use a lot, so have a hard time justifying spending the $$. I have not tryed the Sigma.

Just bought the T2i today, it is on sale at Best Buy and today if you bought any Cannon, you could purchase a lens for half off, I got a nice zoom lens 55-250 for $150 dollars, I was told the the KITS aren't as good, I had looked at Sam's Club and they had the 2 lens kits but was warned they aren't very good quality lens. Not even sure I will like the camera, but the deal was great !!! Extra warranty, a $30 card, extra lens and it was under $1000...

I purchased my second T2i in November for $615 on Amazon with the basic kit lens. I gave this as gift. I really like the Camera but didn't LOVE it until I go the 15-85 zoom lens for Christmas now the photos are much improved.

I have yet to really try for any shot that it couldn't handle. My wife has the SX40, and it's a nice camera. However, it is a totally different feel. If I were you, I'd order it body only and buy the 50mm 1.8 instead... But that is only a prine lens...

I am happy with my Ti3. I hope the megapixel race is near ending and a hdr chip comes soon.

I have had mine for a year now. I got it with the 18-135 lens and it takes wonderful photos and they are sharp! I have since bought the 50 mm 1.8 and love that too. The articulating screen is a godsend in some circumstances and it does not get nose prints all over it. Lol

I am waiting for the T4i. (Beginning to think I may never see one :-) ) However, a long time ago I zeroed in on the 15-85 as the lens I would ultimately buy for it based on reviews. I think the person who mentioned it is correct....very sharp lens with slight vignetting.
