Remote trigger, intervalometer

Does anyone have a wired or wireless remote they really like? I have an RC6 for my rebel and it works well but all it does is trigger the shutter. I tried a trigger trap and that was a complete disaster and I sent it back to Amazon. I wanted to experiment with long exposures, interval shots and time lapse, like a rising moon and so forth.

Thanks!

If you have Wi-Fi (or CamRanger) you could try those functions. I don't know if they have time lapse or real long exposures though as I usually only use it for hands free shooting.

The other option is Canon's timer remote controller - a bit expensive but it has all you want covered. It is a bit confusing to remember all the functions but a quick review will get you going again. I carry it in my camera bag for those times you just need something that works and is fairly simple to use.

Ruh-roh! It doesn't look like it works for the Rebel series? Maybe there is an alternative for the Rebels.

I just bought one for my nikon. It works very well and isn't as expensive as the Nikon/Canon ones.

I purchased the Polaroid Shutter Release Timer Remote Control (corded) nearly two years ago through Amazon (currently available for $30.99). I have had wonderful results doing time lapse as well as long exposures. It has been held in high regard by many other photographers as well.

Check it out!

Consider Magic Lantern. No additional hardware, and it's free!

Hahnel makes a couple of models, reasonably priced too. The usual camera shops have them.

You might want to have a look at the MIOPS Smart Multi Trigger System. The unit fits on your flash bracket and gives you multiple different options, lightning, sound, movement, interval shots, HDR etc.

There is an app you download to your smartphone and control the trigger with that, I have been testing my son's (for about a year now, lol) and I love it.

I dread the day he asks for it back. It is compatible with almost all dslr and micro 2/3rds cameras.

Little more money but excellent functionality.

When it has to work, and your life depends on it I think most people would choose Pocked Wizard
