Nikon D300 and MB-D10

I bought a used D300, Takes wonderful photos. Being used to my F5's I decided to get the Mb-D10 battery pack/motor drive. So I read the manual to the MB-d10 , attached it and camera doesn't work.
So I researched what the problem might be. It seems to be a firmware problem. I checked what I had as far as firmware and it's like 1.02 (A) and 1.00 (B). I understand that they had a 1.03 and are now up to 1.1 ( both A & B ). They state in the fixes for the 1.1 that it now will register the MB-D10 correctly.

So, did anyone else have this problem?
Did 1.1 A & B fix it?

Please let me know.

thanks

Bruce

Nikons firmware upgrades are free and always recommended. Just do the upgrade and give it a try, should work if your grip is a genuine Nikon product, there are a LOT of Chinese counterfeits out there.

Did you set it up in the custom menu correctly? (d10 & d11)

I have firmwares A-1.02 and B-1.00 version and I don't have problems with the MB-D10. What kind of batteries do you have in the MD-D10? In the menu did you set AF on in the MD-D10?Clean your contacts since you got the D300 used.
