This summer my wife planted a small rose in our front garden (one of many). It is the most prolific flowerer I have ever seen. It is never without flowers and always has many on each stem.

The Rose
The Rose...

A little fun with the rose

Did you use a special editing program for the second photo? Cool!

John, it's so good to see you and hope you're feeling better these days. Your wife knows how to grow roses, and you know how to shoot them. Beautiful shot, and I love your 'rose globe'. Beautiful work!

Thank you Donna that's very much appreciated. Always look forward to your comments. This year has started much better than most of last year was so here's hoping it stays that way.

to get the result I have here you do the following.
1.Open your file in PS and crop it to square.
2. Duplicate the layer.
3.Make a new layer and fill it with black.
4. The new layer will be on top so move it into the middle of the 1st and second layer.
5 select the top layer and go to Filter, distort, polar co ordinates, polar to rectangular.
6 go Edit, transform, flip vertical.
7.Go to filter, distort, polar co ordinates, rectangular to polar.
8.Select your elliptical marque tool and select a circular area that you want. Inverse selection.
9 Hit delete and you now have a black background.
Send me a PM if I can help any more,

Thanks so much for the details. Definitely going to try it. I assume it can be done in PSE.
