Is it adviseable to dedicate camera batteries to specific cameras?
My D7000 and my D7200 both use the same batteries. Can the batteries be recharged and used in either camera, or is it adviseable to dedicate a couple for the 7000, and another couple for my 7200?
Thanks
Duane

I have a D7000 and recently purchased a D750. I charged the spare batteries that I had for the 7000 in anticipation of the arrival of the 750. When the 750 arrived I put in the charged battery and put the new one on the charger and then went out to play with the 750. I have been switching them around and have not had any problems.

They both use identical batteries, shouldn't matter at all.

No problemo. Same with my D7000 and D800.

Two cameras are always great. It keeps you from having to switch lenses all the time.

Conduct a test: switch batteries back and forth, forth and back, between the two bodies, note any irregularities in performance, and report back.

As long as there is nothing wrong with either then it won't make any difference. Unless one of the camera's typically have higher battery usage due to design.

I've used the same batteries in a D600, D610, and D750. No problems.

Camera's, unlike people, don't know what goes inside them. If camera's could talk, I am sure they would say, "just shove that freshly charged battery in me and watch me work." For me the same type of battery goes into my D7100, D800, and D750. Whatever battery is charged goes into the camera I am currently using. So, feel free to use the same battery in either body. The only odd guy out for me is my D4s.

I label all my camera batteries, and use them up in sequence.
