Well, I, also confess to hoarding digital images as well as an unknown number of 35mm negatives, none of which are catalogues. I also have tons of color prints and slided spanning 49 years of taking pictures. When I go, someone will have the dubious pleasure of sorting through all that stuff.
Or maybe they will throw them away without even looking at them. That's what I'm afraid my family will do with mine. Plus, I have duplication everywhere...some on disc...some on flash drives...all on my external RAID connected to my MAC. They will probably want those, if they can use the drive on their PC's. I'm thinking about making a copy on a small external hard drive for them (But then, it will never be current).
I don't have the time or inclination to go back and delete images. I trashed the obviously bad and nearly duplicate photos from runs of pictures in the initial import. I've selected my favorites and printed them and sent them with all the rest to Shutterfly for the family. As long as I have room on my drives, the huge number of photos will remain there...and I rarely go back.
